She learned practical skills such as languages and dancing. The Queen was a good woman at heart, but feared this child. The mother in her wanted her child to be free from any harm, but the victim in her wanted the child far away. She took to searching for a future husband while her daughter was very young. At age 4, Draconia was promised to the Lord of Ravenhearst, Heinrich. The years passed quickly and without incident. At age 13, Draconia went to live with the Lord, in preparation for their marriage. She lived in the realm for 1 year, during which the people grew to love her kindness and grace. On her wedding night, the Lord was "consumed by the fires of passion"; that is to say, during the consummation of their marriage, a great fire fell upon the Lord and he was killed. The official story was that the torch at the bedside fell on the bed setting the Lord on fire instantly. The people of Ravenhearst felt compassion for Lady Draconia and remained faithful to her as their new monarch.
